What is Shockwave Therapy?

Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave Therapy, also known as Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy (ESWT), is an advanced non-invasive treatment that uses high-energy acoustic waves to break up soft tissue calcifications, enhance collagen synthesis, release growth factors, recruiting stem cells and stimulate your body’s natural healing process, relieving pain and promoting healing of injured tendons, ligaments, and other soft tissues.

Depending on the injury, patients can avoid invasive treatments such as steroid injections or surgery. ESWT requires no incisions or downtime. Most patients see long-term results after only three treatments, which take about 10-15 minutes each.

Conditions that can be helped with Shockwave:

  • Rotator Cuff Tendonitis
  • Impingement Syndrome
  • Frozen Shoulder
  • Calcific Tendonitis
  • Tennis / Golfer’s elbow
  • Carpal Tunnel
  • Patellar tendonitis – Jumper’s knee
  • Achilles Tendonitis and heel pain
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Neck and Back
